The Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment and the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC), has today announced changes in the leadership of the Customs Division, as part of its strategic realignment to strengthen institutional governance and efficiency within the division.
Effective 1 October 2026, Mrs. Cindy Blakemore will take up the position of Commissioner of Customs. Mrs. Blakemore, who is currently the Director of the Inland Revenue Unit, has been with the SRC for over 20 years and shares extensive experience in both customs and tax. Mrs. Blakemore holds a master’s degree in public policy from RMIT University and a postgraduate in Customs Administration and International Law from the Charles Stuart University, Australia.
Mr. Paul Barrack, who is now serving as the Commissioner of Customs, will, effective 1 October 2026, occupy the role of Advisor to the Seychelles Revenue Commission.
In maintaining institutional accountability and compliance, as from 1 October 2026, staff members at Managers Level within the Customs Division will proceed on rotation in line with SRC’s rotation policy, where this process remains mandatory within the Customs Division for staff members from Officer to Director level. A further round of staff rotation is scheduled for January 2027.
