Following the press conference held in July 2026 by the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment, and the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) pertaining to the electronic invoicing system (E-Invoicing), the SRC, mandated in driving the electronic invoicing project forward, has recently engaged with a series of local electronic billing service providers through a survey, as part of the E-Invoicing readiness plan.
A total of six point-of-sale (POS) and electronic billing solutions (EBS) service providers participated in the survey conducted on-site at their business premises, via telephone calls, and through email correspondence.
The survey held over three days was led by the SRC’s E-Invoicing functional team responsible for defining the overall business requirements, validation of systems functionality, and operational readiness of E-Invoicing.
The team was joined by the SRC’s E-Invoicing technical team accountable for functions related to system integration, infrastructure, maintenance, cybersecurity, as well as technical deployment and implementation.
Findings of the survey has provided the SRC with a better understanding of the billing solutions available within the local market, current invoicing standards and practices, digital readiness required and additional support to be provided in ensuring the effective use of the E-Invoicing system once implemented.
The survey also provided an improved understanding of the current invoicing systems and procedures, possibilities of integration between the current available systems and the E-invoicing solution, the digital readiness of the local service providers, and the continuous engagement that must be maintained with the service providers including taxpayers across various levels of the E-Invoicing project to enable a seamless transition from manual to electronic invoicing.
Commenting about the survey, SRC’s E-invoicing Functional Lead, Mr. Joey Uzice said: “Understanding the EBS currently available within the Seychelles market was crucial in assessing the readiness of businesses and service providers for the future integration with the E-Invoicing System. This survey has allowed SRC to have a better understanding of the level of technical preparedness required within the market and chance to also identify potential gaps or challenges that may arise and will need to be addressed as the project rolls out.”
The SRC will continue to build awareness and engage with the taxpayers at various phase the E-Invoicing project, as part of its strategy to prepare businesses for the full automation and processing of electronic invoices in Seychelles.
