TAX INSPECTORS WITHOUT BORDERS WORKSHOP LAUNCHED

Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) workshop, a joint initiative between the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) was launched yesterday.

The workshop scheduled from 4 to 7 November brings together key stakeholders within the financial sector aims to enhance Seychelles increased investigation capabilities in handling tax crime, illicit financial flows and financial crime networks.

The launching ceremony held at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles was attended by high level dignitaries from the Central Bank of Seychelles, Seychelles Financial Intelligence Unit, Seychelles Police Force, Financial Services Authority, Seychelles Licensing Authority, Office of the Attorney General, and the Seychelles Maritime Safety Agency.

Emma Scott, the TIWB-CI the Programme Lead Advisor and Keelan Smith-Connor, Junior Adviser from OECD is leading the four – day workshop being attended by 35 participants from the bespoke agencies including the SRC.

TIWB-CI is a renowned technical assistance programme designed to strengthen jurisdictions’ tax crime frameworks and enhance the resolution of tax crime cases, including through real-time support on complex investigations, centered on the government’s approaches to combatting illicit financial flows.
