SRC ENHANCES CAREERS AWARENESS THROUGH EDUCATIONAL VISIT

As part of its ongoing initiative to inspire, guide and propel the next generation of youth towards choosing career pathways in taxation and customs, the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) last Thursday 12 February, welcomed a group of secondary students on a dedicated tour of its premises.

It was through a meet and greet with the SRC’s Commissioner General, Mrs. Varsha Singh at the SRC headquarters in Maison Colet, that the visit of the fourteen students hailing from the Belonie secondary school started.

In an interactive conversation with the Commissioner General, the students had the opportunity to engage in discussions about the functions of the commission, its importance to the Seychelles economy and the government, the various learning and development opportunities available, the role of tax and customs in maintaining trade, in addition to meeting with key SRC officers who readily shared their experience and growth throughout their journey with the Commission.

Getting exposed to the operations, the students also toured offices, within the Tax Enforcement, the Taxpayer Services, the Taxpayer Education and Service Delivery Unit, and the Revenue Section.

The SRC expresses its gratitude to the Belonie secondary school for having chosen the tax and customs administration as part of their engagement to increase career knowledge of students at grassroots level. The SRC is also pleased to invite other schools interested in learning more about its functions and career prospects for those aiming of joining the dynamic tax and customs field to contact the commission on 4293737.
