THE SEYCHELLES REVENUE COMMISSION PREPARES TO UPGRADE ASYCUDA WORLD TO VERSION 4.4.1

The Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) has today announced that the first phase of the ASYCUDA World upgrade to version 4.4.1 is set to take place on Friday 13 March, 2026.

In ensuring a successful roll-out during the first phase of the ASYCUDA World upgrade to version 4.4.1, on Friday 13 March 2026, as from 4pm the ASYCUDA system will not be available to use by the traders until Saturday 14 March 2026.
The software upgrade to version 4.4.1 being conducted by UNCTAD, the service provider of the integrated customs management system for international trade, aims to boost customs operations, strengthen compliance and enhance service delivery.

To ensure a seamless process during the first phase of the upgrade, customs services offered at seaport and Airport cargo will close for the general public on Saturday 13 March 2026, whilst all other services including clearance and examination will remain operational.

Following the roll-out of the first phase of the ASYCUDA World upgrade to version 4.4.1 on Saturday 14 March 2026, upon accessing the system, traders will be able to scan and upload any supporting documents required therein and self-assess their bill of entry upon registration. The self-assessment tool will further empower traders to ensure the accuracy of declarations made to customs in line with Customs laws and regulations.

In view of the upgrade, introducing the paperless process, traders will no longer require providing the physical copies of their bill of entry to be process by the entry processing and query unit. All communications to traders will be facilitated through the ASYCUDA system through the inspection act should the bill of entry submitted require further queries.

To build the paperless pathway, as part of the upgrade to version 4.4.1, the Customs Division is encouraging all traders to use the pre-payment, e-payment or bank transfer facilities as much as possible when transacting with Customs. For those transacting with cash or cheque, a physical copy of the assessment notice must be provided to the cashiers upon payment.

Once payment has been completed and confirmed in ASYCUDA, automatic selectivity will be triggered based on the risk controls established into ASYCUDA to identify the appropriate lanes for clearance of the consignment.

For all bills of entries directed through the red channel, traders will be required to produce two physical copies of the bill of entry when reporting on appointment for examination. For all consignments guided through the green channel only one copy of the release order will be required to be produced at examination.

To familiarize the traders with the phase one of the ASYCUDA World upgrade to version 4.4.1, the SRC has since last year hosted a series for educative sessions, meetings, including testing of the new tools in ASYCUDA version 4.4.1 pre-live system with the clearing agents association, clearing agents and direct traders input (DTI) users. The testing was also held internally with the staff members to increase efficiencies and user readiness.

The Commission continues to engage with traders through its social media platforms, website and the AYSCUDA system itself about the roll-out of the ASYCUDA World upgrade to version 4.4.1.

The SRC has also established a hotline on number 2813167, 2722540, 2723087, 2816058 and 2723414 as well as a dedicated email asycudasupport@src.gov.sc which will be activated on Saturday 14 March 2026 to address any queries from the trading community.
