A group of eleven staff members from the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) have successfully completed a one-week training held between 3rd to 7th November 2025, as part of the ongoing collaboration between the SRC’s Customs Division and the French Customs Authority of the Reunion Island.
The capacity building sessions focused on customs airport control, equipped the staff members with the latest techniques and approaches in passenger clearance, movement and control.
The training facilitated by expert Mr. Thierry Sourama and Mr. Faize Lokhat from the ‘Academie Ocean Indian’ and the ‘Douanes & Droits Indirect’ Reunion Island, also focused on customs intelligence with respective sessions held from 28th to 31st October which also saw the participation of the Seychelles Immigration Department.
Following the successful completion of the training, each participant was awarded with a certificate of participation in a short ceremony held at the SRC’s Airport Cargo Training Room in Pointe Larue.
The ceremony was conducted in the presence of French Ambassador for Seychelles, H.E Mme Anne Tallineau, SRC’s Commissioner General, Mrs. Varsha Singh and the Commissioner of Customs, Mr. Paul Barrack.
SRC continues to maintain a long-standing relationship with the French Customs Authority dating back to 2019.
