The Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) will as customary host its annual tax and customs educative workshop targeting newly registered businesses on Wednesday, 14 August 2024.
The session scheduled at 9am will proceed until midday. Topics to be covered will raise awareness on the administration of both customs and tax laws, procedures for lodgment of returns and payment, the applicable penalties in place, obligations and rights of taxpayers, the procedures for objection and appeal, the mandate of customs, the process for importation, concessions applicable as well as the necessary documentation required when transacting with the Commission.
The session set to be held at the STC conference room on Latanier Road aims to provide increased knowledge about taxation and customs to newly registered taxpayers for the year 2024, in addition to addressing the challenges being encountered in maintaining compliance to the revenue laws, customs rules and procedures to further increase the culture of voluntary compliance in Seychelles.
The session to be facilitated by key members from both the tax and customs division will also be dedicated to taxpayers who may not hold a business but wishes to know the procedures required and the obligations in advanced prior to setting up of their activity.
