The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) has last week conducted an intensive transfer pricing and global minimum tax capacity-building with staff members of the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) and key stakeholders within the financial and legal sector.
The workshop held at The Guy Morel Institute from 11 to 15 May 2026 gathered over 30 professionals notably from the Financial Services Authority, Office of the Attorney General, Office of the Registrar, Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment, as well as the SRC.
ATAF’s Head of Domestic Resource Mobilisation, Mr. Anthony Munanda and Transfer Pricing Specialist, Ms. Mercy Mbithi facilitated the training which covered transfer pricing methodologies and its practical use in tax administrations, risk assessment in selecting audit cases and testing of transfer pricing principles against audit strategies, amidst others.
Whereas the global minimum tax training combined of technical discussions with practical analysis looked at how the Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) Model Rules ensures that large multinational enterprises pay a minimum level of tax on their income in each jurisdiction where they operate, in line with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Pillar One – Amount B which offers a streamlined approach for baseline marketing and distribution activities in jurisdictions.
Marking the end of the training, a short ceremony was held to thank the ATAF facilitators and participants for their commitment, insightful deliberations and active involvement in the sessions. The participants were also provided with a certificate for having successfully completed the training.
Being a proud member of ATAF since January 2011, alongside forty-four other African states, SRC will continue to engage with ATAF on tax matters, to further build its capacity and gain expertise from member countries, in addition to ensuring the Commission remains on par with the best practices being implemented across Africa and beyond.
