SRC AND NBS SIGNS MEMORUNDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

The Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the capacity of both entities through the sharing of relevant data, information, experiences, resources, expertise and initiatives through the development of a structured framework.

The SRC’s Commissioner of Tax, Ms. Gayathri Chetty and Principal Statistician, Mrs. Kirsten Arnephy, witnessed the MoU signed by the SRC’s Commissioner General, Mrs. Varsha Singh and the NBS Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kevin Bistoquet for Tax.

To note, the SRC maintains a long lasting relationship with the NBS. The commitment to deepen the existing cooperation between the two entities reaffirms the collective approach of both organization to enhance domestic resource mobilization through informed data collection.

The exchange of data under the MoU shall only be extended to specific information as covered in the domestic taxation and customs laws administered by the SRC with the aim to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of both institutions, national economic statistics and to support effective governance and policy decision making.

The MoU signing ceremony took place at the SRC Head Office in Maison Colet in the presence of both NBS and SRC executives including key staff members.
