SRC TO HOST WORKSHOP FOR NEWLY REGISTERED TAXPAYERS TO COUNTER CHALLENGES IN COMPLIANCE AND TAX LAWS

The Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) will host a dedicated workshop targeting newly registered businesses to further raise awareness on the administration of customs and tax laws, obligations and rights of taxpayers, procedures for returns, applicable penalties in place including other services provided by the organization. 

The session scheduled on Wednesday, 25 October, 2023 will start at 9am until 11 am and will be held at the STC conference room in Bois de Rose. Aimed at increasing knowledge about taxation and customs to newly registered taxpayers for the year 2023, the sessions also anticipate to counter challenges being encountered with taxpayers in maintaining compliance due to insufficient understanding of the revenue laws, its applications and rules related to certain taxes or procedures.

The session to be facilitated by key members from the SRC tax and customs division will also impart knowledge about the organizations’ role and function, the importance of adhering to deadlines when paying taxes, to further increase the culture of voluntary compliance in Seychelles.

SRC is thus also calling on taxpayers who may not hold a business but wishes to know the procedures in advanced prior to setting up their business to also attend the informative sessions together with the newly registered businesses.
